Suggest staying with standard thickness on the right and going to their thick option on the operable left window. usually thicker glass causes headaches for installation, however left left 182 window MUST have a spacer installed.

Lake effect snow is a totally different phenomenon, and it's tough to compete with the lee of the lakes in terms of snowfall frequency and totals. I only brought it up in response to another post about streamers off Lake Erie reaching CT.

Mar 30, 2021 · The installer, T & P Aero Refinishers in Salinas, offered the best rates and seemed to be the most competent when talking to them on the phone. They suggested going with Great Lakes for the windshield since it typically requires less work than LP Aero to trim to fit, but Great Lakes doesn't yet offer UV protection in clear, so LP Aero it is.

Despite the cold January, the Great Lakes are mostly still not frozen - only Lake Erie and St Clair are mostly frozen over now, although some of the larger bays like Lake Huron's North Channel, Green Bay, Severn Sound, Thunder Bay and Nipigon Bay are frozen. I once located some tree stumps in 40 feet of water that carbon-dated at 7000 years old --lake levels were lower before the glacial dam broke releasing the water that shaped the modern Great Lakes. There are estimated to be at least 6000 wrecks in the Great Lakes. Fun times!
