It’s been two years since a Norfolk Southern train derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, by the Pennsylvania border, and industrial chemicals contaminated the community, making hundreds of residents sick.

It was two years ago that the lives of residents of nearby East Palestine, Ohio, and the Darlington area of Beaver County just inside Pennsylvania were blown up by a train derailment that burned for days and then was exploded, creating a chemical cloud that hung for hours over the region.

Vice President JD Vance visited East Palestine on Monday to see what still needs to be done and how to avoid another disaster.
