The Boston Celtics are taking on the New York Knicks with New York star Karl-Anthony Towns landing on the injury report before the game.

Karl-Anthony Towns’ first game against the Celtics as a Knick — his debut in October — was a dud, then this was a disaster.

The Knicks were able to put the Pacers away without a signature performance from their two-time All-Star guard.

The Celtics also did some extensive damage on the offensive end as well. Outside of Tatum's 40-point bomb, Boston shot 54.1% from the field, 48.7% from three-point range, and went 20/24 from the free throw line. They were clicking on both ends, and as a result, they took care of business against a struggling Knicks unit.

The Knicks regained confidence on Tuesday night, defeating the Indiana Pacers, 128-115, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

New York knew that it would likely be missing OG Anunoby for the Boston Celtics' highly-anticipated visit (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC) and that came to pass: in the lead-up to the contest, Anunoby was ruled to be out for the third straight game due to a foot sprain. Precious Achiuwa will start in Anunoby's place.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 40 points for the second straight night, the first time in his career the New York Knicks All-Star has reached that total in consecutive games. Towns got to 42 points Wednesday night in the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Hawks on his seventh 3-pointer of the game.
