Former Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is joining the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Bradley’s specific role hasn’t been reported, but he will be reunited with new 49ers’ defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. The two also coached together in Seattle and Jacksonville.

Gus Bradley, 58, will be working below the coordinator level for the first time since 2008 as he reunites with former pupil Robert Saleh.

Bradley's run as the defensive coordinator of the Colts came to an end after three seasons. He's hardly the reason they have failed to reach the playoffs in each of the last four seasons, but his defenses constantly ran out of gas toward the end of the season.
