Grand Forks casino bill defeated in North Dakota Senate after 'cartels' comment by Sen. Diane Larson
Larson, who later apologized, wondered just prior to Friday's vote if the tribe that wants to build a resort in Grand Forks might be backed by cartels.
The project is expected to create 1,000 temporary construction jobs and 1,000 permanent jobs once the project is built out.
Menominee tribe is continuing its push to open a large casino in Kenosha arguing it will bring 'lasting benefits' to Kenosha and the state.
The casino is located at the intersection of U.S. 550 and N.M. 537 between Cuba and Chaco Culture National Historic Park.
