The Southern District of Illinois has a new acting United States Attorney after Rachelle Aud Crowe "departed" from the role earlier this week. A statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office said Crowe, who was appointed to the position by then-President Joe Biden in June of 2022,

Rachel Aud Crowe, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, has been fired. Crowe, 51, of Glen Carbon, had served as U.S. attorney since 2022. From 2006-18, she was an assistant state’s attorney in the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
