Auburn City Schools has named its new high school Plains High School, reflecting the city's historic nickname.

Serving as the current assistant principal at Bluebonnet Elementary School, Denise Guerrero will transition into her new role to prepare for Adelton’s opening in August.

A nearby conservation area is the namesake of the new Columbia elementary school that broke ground last year and is expected to open in 2026.
