Man United have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window but Antony could offer an unexpected solution to Ruben Amorim's team.

Manchester United had spent £600 million on purchases during Erik ten Hag’s reign as manager that lasted a little over two years. Amorim, who replaced the sacked ten Hag in November, could only make one purchase worth £25 million in the January transfer window in comparison.

Manchester United have appointed former Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell as their director of recruitment on a full-time basis. Vivell has reportedly signed a multi-year contract at Old Trafford following an interim spell in the position.

United's results also revealed the club invested a further £37.7m in the playing squad during the January transfer window.
