Morgan Geekie scored the game-winning goal and Joonas Korpisalo recorded a 29-save shutout as the Boston Bruins beat the visiting Ottawa Senators 2-0 on Thursday night.

Korpisalo appeared in relief and stopped five of six shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to New Jersey. Korpisalo entered the ice in the third period after Jeremy Swayman allowed four goals on 29 shots faced before being pulled.

Joonas Korpisalo readily admitted that he wasn’t at his best all day on Monday. But given the opportunity to preserve a win for the Bruins against the San Jose Sharks, the netminder showed up at the right time.

Things came apart in a hurry in the middle frame. The Bruins didn’t react well to two calls against them that they didn’t like and the Devils took advantage delivering an early knockout blow.
