Two years later, Volkswagen’s new Scout has revealed two vehicles: the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup truck, which are advertised as affordable electric off-road vehicles built in the USA. One of the big selling points: more chunky mechanical buttons and fewer software controls. Oh, and an expected starting price under $60,000 before incentives.

Volkswagon reintroduces the Scout brand with the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup, offering hybrid and electric powertrains.

While battery size was not released, Scout has said to expect 350 miles range with the pure battery setup and “more than 500 miles” of range with the optional extended range electric vehicle (EREV) energy system, cleverly called the Harvester™ after International’s line of tractors.
