Conducting red carpet interviews can be a stressful experience. There are tons of distractions around, and it’s not like anybody is wearing “Hello My Name Is” stickers, so you have to rely on your own facial recognition abilities a lot.

Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante was mistaken for Poppy at the Grammy Awards this weekend. LaPlante got incorrectly introduced as the US genre-smashing solo act in a video interview on the red carpet on Sunday (February 2).

All over social media, people have been cracking jokes about the mistake and how LaPlante rolled with the mistake, confirming that she was in fact Poppy and that she and Knocked Loose were so excited for the nomination.

During the interview circuit on the red carpet at the 2025 Grammy Awards, one interviewer mistook Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante for Poppy, who was also in attendance. It set up LaPlante with the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and she took it!
