A dog is dead after a Lansing police officer shot them while making an arrest of a man in connection with a larceny complaint.

Police arrested 49-year-old Jabbar Davis Thursday on charges of animal cruelty after police on Jan. 6 shot and killed a dog.

LANSING, MI -- Two Lansing police officers were injured during an arrest that ended in the death of a dog.

Families across the country have been left traumatized and skeptical of the criminal justice system after cops, acting quickly, killed their furry family friends.

An officer responded to the Studio 4 Less on Military Highway around 1:30 p.m. in reference to a dog bite. An officer arrived on scene and was met with two dogs actively fighting.
