Brevard honored Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday with a parade and other commemorations. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, also known as MLK Day, honors the American civil rights leader's birthday, although it rarely falls on that actual day. King was born Jan. 15, 1929, but the federal holiday is observed on the third Monday in January.
