COMMERCE, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested Amber Nicole Ferguson, a former officer with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, on two counts of sexual exploitation of children. Ferguson, a 33-year-old from Commerce, Georgia, surrendered to authorities at the Jackson County Jail on Monday, Jan. 15 at 8 a.m.

An Athens-Clarke police officer was fired Tuesday after warrants were taken in Commerce charging her with a crime against a child.

A family member filed a complaint against Amber Nicole Ferguson, 33, of Commerce. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested a former Athens-Clarke County police officer on two counts of sexual exploitation of children on Wednesday morning, according to the agency.
