Brian McShea and Stephanie Raynor rummaged through the debris of where their Altadena home once stood to see what they could salvage from the destructive Eaton Fire. While Raynor looked for any items that survived the fire, McShea was looking for a specific item he hoped was still intact.

Brian McShea had already bought an engagement ring, planning to propose to his girlfriend Stephanie Raynor. McShea was afraid the ring had been destroyed by the fire, but as they were going through the rubble, he found it in a charred desk drawer. Shortly afterward, he got down on one knee and proposed, which she accepted.
