After reports that a long-discussed bout between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Terence Crawford was inching toward being finalized, a new report from The Ring Magazine claims that those negotiations have fallen apart.

Most recently, Crawford outpointed Israil Madrimov in August to win the WBA super-welterweight title. In his previous bout, in July 2023, the 37-year-old dismantled Errol Spence Jr in a shockingly one-sided fight. The result of that long-awaited fight saw Crawford become undisputed welterweight champion.

A clash between Alvarez and Paul has seemingly been put to bed with the Riyadh Season deal, and now it appears to be full steam ahead for Alvarez vs Crawford which will see two of this generation's best fighters go head-to-head in Las Vegas.
