An animator is seeking multiple-billion dollars worth of damages from Disney after accusing Moana 2 producers of stealing some of his ideas. Buck Woodall filed his lawsuit in a California federal court this week - two months after the sequel to the 2016 Polynesian mythology inspired hit landed in cinemas.

Animator Buck Woodall has sued Disney, alleging the company copied elements of his screenplay for "Bucky" to create "Moana" and its sequel.

Moana 2 has been a pretty big hit for Disney, with earnings of $989.8 million at the global box office so far. However, a dark cloud has been cast over the franchise as the studio has been accused of copyright infringement.
