The UEFA Champions League round of 16, quarterfinal and semifinal draws take place on Friday as Europe's leading soccer competition takes its final form for this season. The top eight teams from the league phase led by Liverpool and Barcelona qualified automatically for the round of 16 while eight teams have emerged from the knockout round playoffs which are part of this year's new format.

The draw for the next rounds of the Champions League takes place at 11am GMT on Friday, 21 February at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland. The draw will be streamed live on Uefa’s website and, in the UK, on TNT Sports. You can also follow dedicated coverage on The Independent ’s live blog on the day.

The remaining sides in the competition will know their path to the Munich final upon the completion of the draw.
