Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun picking off Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was a pivotal moment during this year’s Super Bowl. The second-quarter interception put the Eagles in prime field position to keep running up the score on Kansas City before halftime, making it harder for the Chiefs to get back into the contest.

Baun was an AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year finalist and continued his strong play during Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans after intercepting Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Baun picked off Patrick Mahomes for one of three Chiefs turnovers, and the rout was on for the Eagles, who had found gold with a bargain-bin signing of the former New Orleans Saint.

Baun was right in the middle of the lopsided result. He finished with seven tackles (three solo) and an acrobatic interception. According to Wisconsin football's Nate Jelinek, Baun is only the second former Badger to record an interception in the Super Bowl, following Buffalo Bills cornerback Nate Odomes in Super Bowl XXVIII.
