Arctic air will move into the Lowcountry this week bringing with it a possibility of frozen precipitation. High temperatures will be in the 30s with lows in the 20s, and wind chills – that feel-like temperature – could dip into the single digits.

City and county officials in Houston and surrounding areas, along with nonprofit organizations, are opening shelters and warming centers to provide residents a respite from the cold.

As temperatures drop over the next couple of days, the following warming centers are opening in the city of Atlanta and surrounding areas.

Cities and organizations throughout the Pittsburgh area are going to be opening warming centers as the region is bracing for the arrival of extremely cold temperatures over the next several days. The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory that is in place through 1 p.

Temperatures are projected to be under 20 degrees through Wednesday. Washington Park Family Center will serve as an overnight warming center to accommodate those needing shelter.
