"The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and SCE continues to cooperate with authorities," the utility agency wrote.

The utility company said its equipment may have caused the fire but that an investigation is continuing and that they are cooperating with authorities.

In a required filing with state utility regulators, SCE stated it believes its equipment may be associated with the ignition of the Hurst Fire which broke out on Jan. 8.
