An incoming snowstorm could make for a difficult Thursday morning commute across metro Denver, according to the National Weather Service. Updated forecasts show up to 1 inch of snow per hour falling along the Palmer Divide,

The most favored areas for snow are over the southern foothills, Palmer Divide and central plains. However, heavier snow could occur north towards Denver.

What was a winter storm watch yesterday has since been upgraded to a winter weather advisory for the eastern San Juan Mountains. High passes such as Wolf Creek Pass are included in this advisory. Between now and 11 PM Thursday, accumulation amounts range from 6 to 12″.

A winter storm expected to hit southern Colorado on Wednesday could drop more than a foot of snow in the mountains and up to six inches in the southern metro area.

Southern Colorado will see snow move into the mountains on Wednesday morning and then expand into the plains by the evening. Check the forecast in your city.
