San Diego Wave FC granted Jaedyn Shaw's wish, sending the midfielder, part of the U.S. national team, to the North Carolina Courage.

U.S. national team midfielder Jaedyn Shaw has been acquired by the North Carolina Courage in a trade with the San Diego Wave.

In one of the biggest trades of the NWSL offseason so far, the San Diego Wave have sent star forward Jaedyn Shaw to the North Carolina Courage. In return, the Wave received $300,000 in allocation money and $150,000 in intra-league transfer funds, plus a 2025 and 2026 international slot.

The last year for the San Diego Wave has included a number of notable departures. That continued Tuesday morning with the club announcing a trade that sends 20-year-old star forward Jaedyn Shaw to North Carolina.
