A woman accused of setting her home on fire has been charged with felony murder after her 12-year-old daughter died from injuries suffered in the blaze. Roconda Singleton was arraigned on the additional charge Thursday afternoon,

The mother told Grand Rapids officials she removed all the smoke alarms before setting the house on fire while her three daughters were asleep.

Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker said a murder charge was added after one of Roconda Singleton's three daughters died of injuries in the fire.

The mom is accused of timing the blaze for when her three daughters — ages 7, 10 and 12 — would all be asleep, removing the fire alarms, which were later found stuffed in a pillowcase in the backyard, officials told the outlet.

Singleton allegedly removed seven fire alarms from the home before setting it on fire on Saturday morning, the AP, FOX 17 and WOOD TV reported, citing Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom and unspecified court documents, respectively. The fire alarms were found ringing inside a pillowcase in the backyard, per authorities, FOX 17 reported.

The mother accused with intentionally setting her home on fire with her three daughters inside told investigators, "I did it."
