The Miami Hurricanes (4-13, 0-6 ACC) walked into Cameron Indoor Stadium and were run off the floor as the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils (15-2, 7-0 ACC) buried the Hurricanes from beyond the in an 89-54 loss for the team's sixth straight loss of the season.

Duke poured in 17 3-pointers, including six from freshman Kon Knueppel, as the Blue Devils rolled over last-place Miami in ACC basketball at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Hurricanes aren’t totally sure of that timing. But they are thrilled to have landed Beck, who committed to Miami last week in a massive transfer-portal win for the Hurricanes — who saw another transfer, Cam Ward, have a 2024 season that could make him the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.

The Miami Hurricanes have their quarterback for the 2025 season. Carson Beck, who started the past two seasons for the Georgia Bulldogs, announced Friday on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account that he is transferring to Miami. “Go Canes,” Beck wrote in the post that included a graphic of him wearing a Hurricanes uniform.

Carson Beck has been through his first team meeting at Miami, and he’s starting to build relationships with his new teammates with the Hurricanes already working out in advance of the 2025 season.
