Jamie Carragher has called Rio Ferdinand “a clown” after the former Manchester United defender labelled him “ignorant” over his comments on the Africa Cup of Nations ( AFCON ). Carragher was criticised after he appeared to dismiss the idea that AFCON is a major tournament while discussing in-form Liverpool star Mohamed Salah ’s chances of winning the Ballon d'Or.
