The Integral Coach Factory unveiled its first Vande Bharat train rake with all AC sleeper coaches for long distances involving night travel.

The Integral Coach Factory in Chennai has introduced fully air-conditioned sleeper coaches for the Vande Bharat Express train. These coaches feature enhanced safety features and luxurious interiors, marking a shift from the existing chair car facilities.

During a press conference on Wednesday (23 October), ICF General Manager U. Subba Rao discussed the upcoming launch of the sleeper coaches. “The testing will cover oscillation trials, emergency braking distress trials, and checks on the control and electrical systems in real-world conditions,” said Rao.

Chennai: Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai will soon roll out the much awaited Vande Bharat train sleeper version coaches, railways said in a new statement as it shared a new video. Vande Bharat sleeper version is the expansion of Vande Bharat trains portfolio which also includes Vande Bharat chair car and Vande Bharat metro train.

The Vande Bharat Express is a high-performance, electric multiple-unit train operated by Indian Railways. It was designed by RDSO and manufactured by the government-owned Integral Coach Factory, located in Chennai.
