TSMC has denied a report that it is under investigation by the U.S. Commerce department for supposed dealings with Chinese tech company Huawei. The statement comes a day after a separate report claimed that a TSMC chip had been found in a Huawei product.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company notified the U.S. that one of its chips had been found in a Huawei product after tech research firm TechInsights took apart the product, a person familiar with the matter said,

TSMC might be in trouble after its chip was found in a teardown of a Huawei device, which is a possible violation of U.S. export restrictions on Chinese companies.
