SALT LAKE CITY ― There’s a stark reality facing the Flyers now. After trading away two offensive players and slotting in four players from the team’s American Hockey League squad, the Flyers’ scoring issues have been amplified as they await the arrival of Jakob Pelletier and Andrei Kuzmenko.

The Philadelphia Flyers may not have secured the win against the Utah Hockey Club, but their 3-2 overtime loss featured encouraging signs of progress.

Philadelphia acquired Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, and two draft picks from the Calgary Flames in exchange for Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee on Jan. 30, but have not been able to field Kuzmenko or Pelletier in the lineup yet as the two are currently waiting for their visas to clear, allowing them to work in the U.S.
