The Critics Choice Awards, which were hosted for a third year in a row by Chelsea Handler, has traditionally been a good Oscar bellwether. Last year, eventual Best Picture Oscar winner Oppenheimer scored a leading eight wins here including the marquee Best Picture prize that Anora just snagged.

"So unexpected, so unexpected," said "Anora" director Sean Baker from the stage of the Critics Choice Awards on Friday night. Baked wasn't alone in his surprise. The marvelous madcap comedy-drama took home the evening's final award for Best Picture - without winning a single award anywhere else during the ceremony.

"Anora" wins the top prize at the Producers Guild Awards Saturday just after the film's director Sean Baker wins the Directors Guild of America Award.
