Great walk along the Llangollen Canal. Telford's bridges and aquaducts are well worth exploring on a winter walk. Surrounded by rolling hills of and with Offa's Dyke running alongside. The close by M…Full review by PositivelyBrum

The sheer height of the aquaduct is amazing - or terrifying depending on your fear of heights. But the views are phenomenal. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the walk across.Full review by DorothySharp

Just found out that Jones the Boats will no longer be operating as from Nov 3rd, all because the w***ers at the canal and river trust won't renew the lease for the land they are on, end of an era for us, no more boat trips across the aquaduct and no more fantastic meals on there restaurant boat....... Can't you big boys leave the little ones alone.......

Oh no that's so sad. Is there a way they could be petitioned? I'd happily sign

We didn’t from the sun Trevor pub. It was about 9 miles there and back that did include walking round Llangollen as well. It’s an easy 9miles though. My elderly parents did one way and got a taxi back. It’s all flat and a lovely lovely stretch of waterways. Do it!!

Hello from America! How does one arrange for the walk? Is there a fee and a need for a reservation? The reviews are lovely! I love a good walk-about and would enjoy this "adventure". It appears one doesn't have to walk the entire 9 miles. How to get back when finished walking before others keep going? Pubs? Cafes around before the entire walk? I'm sure being a senior, I wouldn't be able to walk the entire way if, in fact, it is 9 miles. Thank you in advance, darlene

Hi Darlene, are you hiring a rental car for your trip? If so you can park in Llangollen long stay car park for about £5 for the day, cross the bridge and follow signs for the canal and walk up here for as long as you want and turn back. There are some lovely pubs in Llangollen and The CornMill is lovely and you can also sit out and watch the river. You could also head to Postcysyllte Aquaduct instead or as well. This is the end of the walk and there is a lovely pub there called The Telford Arms. You can actually walk over the aquaduct which is a beautiful structure. Parking is available at a small cost. All in all a fab day out in a beautiful part of the world. Hope you have a great time.

Four elderly but reasonably fit men. How long would it take us to complete the canal walk from LLangollen to Chirk? Are there taxis in Chirk to bring us back if we are a bit knackered? Thanks.
A:
I’m not sure how long it would take to walk but I’m sure you will be able to get a taxi from the boat house xx
