Buffalo Bill Lake does get HIGH winds. If you want to play on the water do it in the AM. Seems like most winds start around 1pm in that area.Full review by 20dakotag

Sorry for not answering sooner, my computer was out of commission for a awhile. I didn't stay in the picnic area. I was too busy exploring the Dam Museum. From what I remember, there are picnic areas, but I would go ahead and bring a grill just to safe. Sorry if this response is too late, but whenever I went camping with family we always made sure to bring the whole house haha.
